In-Service Certificate in English Language Teaching (ICELT)

• Course-based award for practicing English Language teachers
• Administered on a yearly basis
• The course consists of 120 hours
• Seminars given weekly in three-hour sessions
• Instructors (native and Brazilian) with broad training experience in many language teaching scenarios

Who is ICELT for?

• Practicing teachers who will have had a total of at least 500 hours of relevant experience by the end of the course and whose normal work is within a specific context (e.g. teaching adults and/or young learners in the private sector
• Primary or secondary school teachers
• The minimum entry requirement is CELS Higher (CAE) or equivalent language level; a personal interview may be required. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a competence in the use of written and spoken English which is sufficient to enable them to meet the assessment requirements of the course
